These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Candela — Light Meter mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”), which is incorporated by reference.
Candela estimates light levels from the iPhone camera. It is a helpful measuring instrument, not a certified or laboratory-grade light meter. Readings (lux, foot-candles, EV, color temperature, PPFD, DLI) are approximations that depend on your device, lighting conditions, and how the phone is aimed.
You agree not to rely on the App as the sole basis for decisions where inaccuracy could cause harm, loss, or non-compliance — including but not limited to workplace or safety lighting compliance, professional photography or cinematography deliverables, medical or vision-related decisions, or high-value horticulture. For those purposes, use a certified instrument and your own professional judgment. Calibration improves accuracy but does not certify it.
The App is designed to operate entirely on your device and collects no personal data. Your use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
The App, its design, original artwork (including the aperture-dial interface and app icon), text, and all related intellectual property are owned by Snizhana Babytska and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App (if any).
